​​​​​​​The Chairperson of the Alumni of the University of Botswana Development (ALUBDEV) Trust, Dr Joseph Tsonope, has applauded the University of Botswana management for the new strategy to transform the university into a research oriented and entrepreneurial institution of higher learning.

The University of Botswana has donated 37 face shields to Letsholo Primary School teachers. Letsholo Primary Schools, located in Kopong, has 35 teachers who in the face of COVID-19 made a plea to the University of Botswana to assist with protective equipment.

University of Botswana Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Professor Opha Pauline Dube, has been elected vice chairperson of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) Scientific Advisory Panel.

The Minister of Tertiary Education, Research Science and Technology, Dr Douglas Letsholathebe, visited the University of Botswana on June 8, 2020 to assess and appreciate its readiness and compliance with COVID-19 health protocols.

A University of Botswana team of engineers and product designers which has been working closely with medical experts on a number of projects as part of the university’s COVID-19 response, is on the verge of breaking through with production of a ventilator.
