University of Botswana Welcomes Four New Executive Management Team Members

EMTUniversity of Botswana welcomed four new Executive Management Team members during a meet and greet session held at the UB Council Chamber on January 23, 2023.

The new members are Deputy Vice Chancellor Teaching and Learning, Professor Georges Ekosse, Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Enterprise, Professor Doreen Ramogola-Masire, Chief Operations Officer, Mr Dawid Katzke and Chief Finance Officer, Mrs Peo Pillar.

Welcoming new team members, the Vice Chancellor, Professor David Norris, reiterated that they were coming in at critical time when the University was implementing a new strategy hence undergoing transformation to align with the strategy.

Professor Norris also appreciated other members who held fort that despite challenges posed by COVID-19 and labour issues, they managed to deliver good service. He underscored the need for universities to play a leading role in enhancing economic growth and prosperity of their countries.

Professor Norris noted that the University was established by an Act of Parliament with specific a mandate of teaching and learning, knowledge generation, scholarly investigation and research, community empowerment and enhancement of economic activity.

He urged UB management to make sure that the institution’s research output was of high standard and impactful internationally. He impressed upon the executive management team the need to recognise their role as key drivers of the new strategic. Professor Norris further encouraged senior management to strive for service excellence.
