The University of Botswana together with Game Pro Training Academy in South Africa will soon offer courses on professional hunting and other skills such as animal trekking and skinning.
This follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the two institutions signed at the University of Botswana on January 29, 2020. Vice Chancellor, Professor David Norris, signed for the University while Mr Jan Muller, signed on behalf of Game Pro Training Academy as director.
A third year Urban and Regional Planning student in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Ms Ludo Ntshiwa, is this year’s Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) and Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) University Challenge winner.

University of Botswana and Mitsubishi UFJ Research and Consulting Co. Ltd. (MURC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to undertake collaborative efforts and establish partnerships in the utilization of digital technologies in different areas of health.
UB’s Director of Legal Services, Mr Benbella Rwelengera, signed for the University while President Satoshi Murabayashi signed on behalf of MURC. The Secretariat for this MoU is MURC’s Center on Global Health Architecture, an organisation striving to solve global health issues.
The University of Botswana will embark on research that will focus on Anti- Doping Education and Consideration/Intention of Using Prohibited Substances in Botswana, Zambia and Papua New Guinea, thanks to a 2020 World Anti-Doping Agency research grant.
The grant has been awarded to Dr Tshepang Tshube, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education, Health and Recreation. Dr Tshube said he was happy to be awarded the 2020 World Anti-Doping Agency research grant in the amount of US$59,662 (around P640 000).
As the 2020 Olympic Games beckon, the University of Botswana continues to offer its facilities to help in the preparation of national teams athletes to make sure they are fit for the games slated for Tokyo, Japan from July 24 to August 9, 2020.
