The University of Botswana Department of Statistics in partnership with other SADC Universities on March 18, 2018 organised a two-day pre-conference workshop aimed at recruiting and supporting potential PhD students to undertake Statistical Science research.

If Botswana is to become a knowledge-based economy, key institutions such as the University of Botswana should rise above just being mere centres of learning to become knowledge creators and producers.

This observation was made by Professor Roy Du Pre, European Union University Teacher Development Advisor at the University of Botswana at a public lecture held at the UB Conference Centre on March 15, 2018.

A two-person delegation from the University of Cambridge paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Professor David Norris on March 8, 2018 to seek points of interest between the institutions based on shared values with a view of collaborating in research.

The University of Botswana hosted a Sponsor Appreciation Breakfast on March 9, 2018 at the UB Stadium VIP Lounge to appreciate companies which supported the Faculty of Business’ 4th Biennial International Business Conference on Innovation and Growth held at Chobe Marina Lodge in Kasane on July 11-13, 2017.

Representatives of the University of Botswana who participated at the Fourth Higher Education Fair in Maseru, Lesotho visited the Lesotho High School on February 24, 2018 as part of a familiarisation and relationship building exercise which amongst others sought to attract the best students from the school to UB.
