Dr. Nafiu Aminu is currently lecturing at the School of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Botswana, Gaborone, Botswana. He was working at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Nigeria, before moving to the University of Botswana in 2024. Dr. Aminu has a broad research background in pharmaceutics, and he focused on advancing pharmaceutical sciences through innovative approaches in Nano Pharmaceutics and Drug Delivery. He is interested in collaborative research on bioavailability enhancement and targeted drug delivery. Dr. Aminu has presented his research work at several conferences held in Nigeria, India, Malaysia, Australia, and United Arab Emirates. He also published over 40 research and review articles in international journals of repute and has contributed 4 book chapters. Dr. Aminu won some research grants from TETFund (Nigeria). He is a certified reviewer for several journals including Carbohydrate Polymers (Elsevier). He is a member of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, Delhi Pharmacy Council India, IHME Global Burden of Disease (GBD) collaborator, Pharmacy Scholars Initiative (PSI) and some other professional organizations. I am a Professor of Aquatic biology and Ecotoxicology since 2016. Joined the University of Botswana in June 2025. My sundry studies of streams, creeks, rivers, wetlands, ocean and estuaries of the Niger Delta water-web provide useful information on the region’s aquatic ecology and insights for managing the ecosystems sustainably. I am an established scholar and a leading expert in Aquatic Ecology, Environmental Impact Assessment, Biodiversity and Ecotoxicology. I have and still managing large research projects and involved in several collaborative studies across the globe. I have a teaching and research experience in the University for over two decades and have supervised several undergraduate and postgraduate research projects including 20 PhD graduates and several consultancy projects. I have a postdoctoral research experience from the Institute for Water Research, Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa in 2009 and was a visiting researcher on River Conservation to Senckenberg Natural Museum, Gelnhausen, Germany in 2014 and University of Mississippi, USA in 2015. My research accomplishment is evidenced by over 200 journal publications, eleven invited talks, 40 conference abstracts, 10 of which are at the international level. I am currently the President of Freshwater Biological Association of Nigeria (FBAN), a fellow of Zoological Society of Nigeria (ZSN) and Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA)

Prof. Yirsaw Ayalew is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science, University of Botswana. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Klagenfurt, Austria with a specialization in Software Engineering. His research interests include software testing and debugging, end user software engineering, requirements engineering, software maintenance, software process improvement and software engineering for healthcare systems. More specifically, his work examines the development of techniques and tools to support end users in testing and debugging their programs; frameworks for assessing maintainability of systems; adaptable software process assessment and improvement frameworks for small software companies; and information systems for effective healthcare service delivery.
He serves as member of organizing and programme committees of many international conferences such as 2nd African Conference on Software Engineering and Applied Computing, 32nd ACM/IEEE International Conference on Software Engineering- Software Engineering Education Track, IASTED International Conference on Software Engineering, and ACM/IEEE Symposium on Software Engineering in Africa (now African Conference on Software Engineering). Currently, he is a reviewer for journals such as IEEE Access, African Journal of Research in Mathematics, Science and Technology Education and International Journal of Software Engineering, Technology and Applications.
