Specific Entry Requirements

  • Certificate IV, NCQF Level 4 (BGCSE)/equivalent with a minimum of grade C in English Language and Mathematics.

Application Cut-off Point

  • Overall (Best 6 subjects): 36

Applicants with a Diploma in Accounting and Business Studies or equivalent qualification may be considered for entry at level 100 or 200 into any of the Degree programmes mentioned above.

FACUTY OF ENGINEERING AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT

School of Design and Built Environment

Bachelor of Architecture:

5 years

Specific Entry Requirements

Certificate IV, NCQF Level 4 (BGCSE)/equivalent with a minimum of grade of D in English Language, a minimum of Grade C in Mathematics, and either a minimum of Grade C in Physics or Grade BB in Science Double Award, and a minimum of Grade C in Art or in Design and Technology.

Application Cut-off points

Overall Points (Best 6 Subjects): 34

Programme Points:

  • Option 1:  18 (Maths + Physics + Art/Art & Design/Design & Technology/Geometrics))
  • Option 2: 26 (Maths + Science Double Award) + Art/Art & Design/Design & Technology/Geometrics)

Applicants with credits towards a degree from other Post-Secondary Educational institutions are eligible to apply and may receive advanced credit for their prior studies in comparable courses. 

All selected applicants are required to attend an interview with Department of Architecture and are advised that it would be an advantage to bring a portfolio containing evidence of interest in visual arts and/or design. Admission into the programme is subject to the positive result of the interview.

FACULTY OF HUMANITIES, EDUCATION AND SOCIAL SCIENCES

School of Media, Information and Creative Arts

Bachelor of Interior Design

4 years

Specific Entry Requirements

  • Certificate IV, NCQF Level 4 (BGCSE)/equivalent with a minimum of grade C in English Language

Application Cut-off point

  • Overall Points (Best 6 Subjects): 34

Applicants with a Diploma in Interior Design, or related field or Family and Consumer Sciences or its equivalent shall be admitted into Level 200 or 300 of the Degree Programme on the basis of accumulated credits.

Prospective applicants are expected to make their applications online through the “STUDY” link on the University of Botswana website:  www.ub.bw.  Applicants are to use any Internet facility available to them to apply. A guide in the form of a booklet, entitled “ONLINE APPLICATION: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE”, on how to complete an application online is provided through the “STUDY” link on the University website. 

Admitted or unsuccessful applicants who wish to request for a programme change may do so by completing the Application Form accessible on-line as part of the Application Package on the UB website. Completed Application Form must be sent by email to admissions@ub.ac.bw. 

Admission Processing
Applicants who meet the set programme entry requirements will be admitted based on academic merit, depending on the availability of space.  Meeting the minimum entry requirements therefore does not guarantee admission.
