Professor Barson worked as a lecturer, senior lecturer and associate professor of parasitology at the University of Zimbabwe for 15 years before joining the University of Botswana in 2020. His research spans systematics, ecology and pathology of helminth parasites of African freshwater fishes, both wild and cultured. Prof Barson is an alumnus of the US Fulbright Research Scholar fellowship and a recipient of the African Union-TWAS Young Scientist of the Year award. Prof Barson served for three years as a member of the Aquatic Animal Health Standards Committee of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and also consults for the FAO, OIE and the AU-IBAR on aquatic animal health issues in Africa. To date, he has authored more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed publications.

Biki Basupi is a Tourism Lecturer in the Department of Tourism & hospitality Management. He holds an MSc degree in Environmental (University of Botswana) with an emphasis on natural resources management, a BA Degree in Environmental Science (University Of Botswana) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (University of Botswana). His research interests include natural resources management, sustainable tourism, Cultural Tourism, Tour Operations as well as urban tourism. Basupi has worked as an environmental consultant under several companies. His journey in academics started at the Department of Environmental Science at the University of Botswana where he worked as a teaching assistant and later on worked as a lecturer. In 2014, he moved to the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management where he is currently based. He has a few published articles in both local and international journals. Currently he is pursuing a PhD in Environmental Science with the University of Botswana.
Currently he teaches courses on Research, Sustainable Nature Based Tourism, Safari & Camp Management, Tour Operations Management, Tourism in Botswana, Management of Parks, Game Reserves & Sanctuaries to mention but a few.

Tshepo Batane is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Technology at the University of Botswana. She obtained her PhD in Instructional Technology from Ohio University in the USA. She served as Head of the Department of Educational Technology at the University of Botswana (2012-2018). Her research interests are centred around exploring innovative ways of utilising technology to improve different aspects of learning. This has included; integration of technology into the curriculum, preparation of teachers to use technology in the classroom and the use of various ICT resources to facilitate learning.
