Nkobi Owen Pansiri’s diverse career stretches from teaching,  Education Officer, Principal Education Officer, Chairperson for Southern African Development Community (SADC) Technical Committee on Basic Education, development of Commonwealth Education Material Development and Training for headteachers, and training school inspectors. He is a member of the Southern African Comparative and History of Education Society (SACHES); Botswana Educational Research Association and African Education Leadership Forum.

He is serving Botswana Examination Council Research Committee; Botswana Institute of Bankers Council; European Union Education Expert on Educational Leadership. He served as Head of Primary Education Department; helped to develop Standards and Indicators for Quality Education in Botswana; evaluated education for Remote Area Dweller Children in Botswana; assisted the Ministry of Basic Education in Botswana to develop an Access and Retention Policy.

As an academician, he has published one book, four book chapters, and seventeen (local and international) Refereed Journal Articles. He is a seating external examiner of the following universities: University of North West, University of South Africa, University of Namibia, University of the Witwatersrand and the University of Kwa Zulu Natal. He is a founder of the Letsholathebe Development Trust.
