Dr Marks Ditlhogo is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences, at the University of Botswana. His area of specialization is ecology. He has taught at the University of Botswana for more than 20 years. He was the Head of the Department of Biological Sciences from 2002 – 2008. His research interests are in natural resources (biodiversity) conservation and invasive alien species, more especially on how these impact the livelihoods of communities. He has been involved in the development of the Botswana Indigenous Knowledge Systems Policy as well as the Botswana Apiculture Policy. He is the Chairman of the National Biological Diversity Authority (NBDA) of Botswana, which gives technical advice on the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD) in Botswana.
