LECTURER IN LIFELONG LEARNING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT(CONTRACT POSITION)

Subject to the provisions of Academic General Regulations 000 and General Regulations for Diploma and Certificate Programmes 10.1, 10.21a, 10.21b, 10.22, 10.23, & 10.24, the following Special Regulations shall apply.
1.1 Entrance Requirements
BGCSE/equivalent. Preference shall be given to applicants with some work experience in adult education, extension work and community development.
Departmental Special Regulations for the Master of Lifelong Learning and Community Development
Subject to the provisions of General Regulations 400 and the Faculty of Education special regulation 41.0, the following Departmental Specific Regulations shall apply.
BGCSE/equivalent with a minimum of grade C in English Language. Preference shall be given to applicants with some work experience in adult education, extension work and community development.
The need for adults to acquire new knowledge, skills and attitudes is increasingly recognised as essential to economic, social and individual development. The International Commission on Education for the Twenty First Century stated: 'The concept of learning throughout life is the key that gives access to the Twenty First century.' This idea is embedded in Botswana's Vision 2016, which emphasises 'an educated and informed nation'. The Department of Adult Education is dedicated to developing the capacity to meet the goal of lifelong education for all in Botswana, Africa and the world.
