Departmental Regulations for MPhil/PhD Degrees in Mathematics

The Department offers MPhil and PhD Degrees by supervised research only. General Regulation 50.0 shall apply.

1.0 Entrance Requirements

Master of Philosophy Degree Programme (MPhil)

a) In order to register for the MPhil Degree, a candidate must discuss the proposed programme with the Department and then submit with the application form an acceptable outline of the research.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics

Entry Requirements

Admission to the Mathematics Programmes shall be as specified in Faculty of Science Regulation 23.21.
The entry requirement for Single Major and Major/Minor (with Mathematics Major) at level 300 shall be a GPA of 3.0 in the Mathematics courses at levels 100 and 200 subject to approval by the Head of the Department.
