Rationale
Good writing is an important part of career success, yet few employees receive no guidance with writing and formatting documents in the workplace. Expectations can be different from one report to the next as each report is different. This course is designed to help participants understand the purpose of writing reports, so that whatever they write, they are working on what is expected of them and how to achieve it. Although report formats are partially determined by in-house styles, analytical reports have a conventional formats. In private, public and academic contexts good ‘report writing’ skills have become essential for managers and employees
Purpose
On completion of the course, learners should be able to (i) appreciate reports as a business communication and decision-making tool (ii) make participants aware of types of reports (iii) recognise the important of report audience, and (iv) write well-structured, concise clear and informative reports.
