Rationale
- HRDC has been entrusted with the development of the human capital for the nation highlighting the urgent need for entrepreneurship training such as small business management, and has thus listed Entrepreneurship as one of the top occupations in the business and financial services sector.
- Learners engaging in this professional development course will be learning to work within SMME (Small, Medium, and Micro Enterprise) environment, with specific emphasis in New Venture creation which will add value to one’s job. This standard will also add value to entrepreneurs who are seeking to develop their entrepreneurial skills so that they can become more marketable locally and internationally in high level engagements, including commercial and public sector contracts.
Purpose
The purpose of the course is to produce entrepreneurs who are competent in creation of employment in new business ventures, development of business plans, conduct feasibility studies, have capability to do risk management as well as analyzing financial statements and success factors.
