Research Interests:

HIV and AIDS issues in adults and adolescents; HIV and Cervical Cancer, Orphan Care,Health care Policy; Human Resource for Health in Primary Health Care, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools, and Professional issues

Ongoing Research:

  1. A Social Network Analysis of HIV Treatment Partners in Botswana:  The broad goal is to determine the most effective characteristics of treatment partners in order to inform healthcare providers about how to guide PLWH on treatment partner selection, and how to guide treatment partners on support provision. We will use a social network-based conceptual framework that incorporates information about treatment partners’ personal characteristics as well as their position in the social network. NIMH R21 MH107454

Sub-Saharan African Collaborative HIV and Cancer Consortia: The broad long-term goal of this project is to reduce the rates of cervical cancer in Botswana and other sub-Saharan African countries. This project addresses the urgent need for research on factors affecting screening for HPV, risk for HPV and HIV acquisition, treatment seeking and retention in treatment among women in Botswana.  NIH RFA-CA_13-010
