To register for a PhD Degree, a candidate must have obtained an appropriate Degree (MSc or MPhil), in accordance with regulation 50.2.
The procedure for submitting applications for admission to the MPhil and PhD programmes shall be as stipulated in General Regulations 50.1 and 50.2 respectively.
The procedure for registration for the MPhil and PhD degree programmes shall be as prescribed in General Regulation 50.3.
The MPhil and PhD Programme in physics consist of two courses:
PHY 800: Supervised Research and Thesis in Physics (MPhil)
PHY 900: Supervised Research and Thesis in Physics (PhD)
The duration of the MPhil and PhD programmes shall be as stipulated in General Regulation 50.4.
The programme of study shall be as specified in the general regulations 50.5.
Transfers of registration from MPhil to PhD and from PhD to MPhil shall be permitted in accordance with the provisions of General Regulations 50.6.2 and 50.6.3, respectively.
Theses shall be submitted in accordance with the provisions of General Regulations 50.7.
Examinations shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of General Regulations 50.7.3.
The notification of results and award of degree shall be in accordance with General Regulation 50.9.
