The EMENT curriculum will provide you with a rigorous and critical grounding in key core and functional areas of business, entrepreneurship and their inter-relationships. Integrative, interactive and global outlook are the key philosophical drivers behind the curriculum. It further puts emphasis on developing leadership through strategic management with a significant practical and professional orientation. In full compliance with all relevant standards, the program offers the students the intellectual and practical knowledge required to enhance their competitiveness in the national and global market, and in creating competitive companies that will effectively participate in a globalized economy.
The normal minimum entrance requirement for the part-time EMENT shall be one of the following:
An undergraduate degree in any discipline from this or any other recognized university or institution of higher learning, having earned at least a GPA of 2.8 out of 4.00 scale; or 3.00 out of a 5.00 scale, second class, second division, or it's equivalent coupled with at least three years appropriate work experience; or
Relevant professional or postgraduate qualifications deemed equivalent to at least a 2.8 GPA [2(ii)] degree by the Faculty of Business coupled with at least three years appropriate work experience; or
An undergraduate degree at a pass division or equivalent coupled with a postgraduate diploma at credit level or above and at least three years appropriate work experience; or
An undergraduate degree at pass division or equivalent coupled with at least 5 years relevant work experience.
The Executive Master in Entrepreneurship will require completion of 60 credits of coursework, including a practicum component. The duration of the course is five semesters for full-time students and 6 semesters for part-time students. The overall structure of the program has been developed to provide students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary to shape, assess, and launch a scalable company. Experiential learning is a central part of the programme.
Students are guided through a series of courses that will parallel the students’ hands-on activities as they work through the business creation process from opportunity assessment to launch or other types of entrepreneurial activities. Coaching will be provided by established entrepreneurs as wells as by professionals who know about entrepreneurship but not entrepreneurs. Therefore, students may be required to undertake excursions.
The EMENT program is offered on a part-time basis only. The normal duration shall be a minimum of six (6) semesters and a maximum of eight (8) semesters.
