Building a Graduate Database to Enrich the University's Human Resource

The University of Botswana is a comprehensive, multi-campus university that was established in 1982. The institution is in the middle of restructuring to foster efficiency and effectiveness. Consequently, it has reduced its eight (8) faculties to five (5).

The new faculties are:

  1. Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
  2. Faculty of Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences
  3. Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment
  4. Faculty of Business, Economics and Law
  5. Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences

As an international institution that offers diverse programmes, from humanities to medicine, the University has over the years attracted a sizeable number of international staff and students. Its fresh strategy, “Creating a Future for the Knowledge Generation” is set to deliver an impressive menu of programmes that require enhanced human resource base to cope with the envisaged expansion. The University’s offering will address the new government’s objective of job creation.

To this end, the University of Botswana desires to build a database of Botswana citizens who intend to seek employment with the University in the future. Such aspirants must be in possession of a doctoral degree or a Master’s. Master’s degree holders who submit their qualifications with the University should be in the middle of a PhD study or be prepared to embark on a doctoral study should they be appointed by the University. The submission of qualifications is not an application submission.
