The Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Norris, is visiting Dubai as part of the University of Botswana’s efforts to forge academic and industrial partnerships.
Professor Norris is holding discussions with Bauerfiend (one of the largest manufacturers of prosthetic and orthotic devices in the world) to explore possibilities of offering Bachelors and Masters Degree Programmes in Prosthetics and Orthotics at UB.
The company has expressed great interest in assisting the University of Botswana develop Prosthetics and Orthotics Curriculum. Additionally, the company has expressed interest to set up a workshop for student training and manufacturing of prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (braces, callipers, neck collars etc).
