University of Botswana (UB) signs Memorandum of Understanding with Tshwane University of Technology

TshwaneThe University of Botswana (UB) and Tshwane University of Technology formalised a five (5) year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 18th March 2024, in Pretoria, South Africa. Professor Richard Tabulawa, Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor Teaching and Learning led the delegation from UB, which included Professor Olekae Thakadu, Acting Director of the Centre for Continuing of Education, Professor Ritchie Moalosi, Director of the UB Innovation Center, Dr. Faith Rapuleng-Tuelo, Director of Public Affairs, and Dr. Emmanuel Moswela, Executive Assistant in the Office of the Vice Chancellor.

The UB delegation was welcomed by Professor Barend J van Wyk, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Teaching, Learning, and Technology, and Dr. Edgar Nesamvuni, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences and other TUT officials. The MoU focuses on the following niche areas; entrepreneurship and technology as they serve as strategic and mutual cornerstones for both institutions.

Additionally, the collaboration will encompass; curriculum development, faculty/staff exchange, student exchange, research, and material exchange. The University of Botswana (UB) stands to gain significantly by cultivating strong connections with the industry to tailor curricular to meet industry demands and the current economic requirements of the country. Furthermore, collaboration will provide an avenue for sharing state-of-the-art strategies in innovation, ultimately propelling the transformation of ideas into tangible products and services.

Professor Tabulawa signed the MoU on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Professor David Norris.
