Speaking at the handover ceremony, Director of the University Pod at UB, Professor Richie Moalosi, expressed his delight at the completion of the state-of-the-art facility. He described it as a vital step forward in fostering innovation and integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) within the academic and broader community.
“This milestone signifies more than just a completed structure. It represents a launchpad for innovation and collaboration,” said Professor Moalosi. “As we celebrate the completion of the UniPod, we must now focus on building meaningful partnerships with key stakeholders including schools to ensure this space is fully utilised. We are also engaged in ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Higher Education to support this transformative initiative.”

He noted that the UniPod exemplified the value of sustainable, efficient construction and strategic partnerships.
“On behalf of the UNDP, we are proud to be part of this exciting initiative,” said Mr Maiketso. “This is not just about a building, it is about creating a space that fosters inclusive growth and innovation while promoting environmentally responsible practices.”
