UB Successfully Graduates Tourism Ministry Officials in Project Management Short Couse

DPEDThe Department of Professional Education and Development (DPED) has successfully graduated a cohort of senior management officials from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism who embarked on a week-long training at the University of Botswana (UB).

The training focused on Project Management Essentials and Microsoft Project.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony at the end of the course on the 10th of July 2026, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism Deputy Permanent Secretary Corporate Services, Ms Neo Sebolao, underscored the importance of continuous learning for ministry officials. Ms Sebolao thanked the participants commitment to ensuring that the course ran smoothly until the end.

Echoing similar sentiments, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Professor Patricia Mogomotsi, appreciated the staff members for having acquired relevant skills to execute pending ministerial projects. Professor Mogomotsi urged the officials to start applying all the skills learnt throughout the week.

She called on the officials to deliver projects differently and share the lessons with others for enhanced efficiency. She stressed that that would ensure that the entire team pulled in the right direction.

The Deputy PS further lauded UB for facilitating a successful workshop and looked forward to other future engagements.

To that end, she congratulated the graduating participants for being worthy of the investment. Further, she appealed to them to keep an open mind and strive towards project implementation.

Delivering the closing remarks, DPED Director, Mr Richard Neill, assured the participants that UB offered top quality courses. Thus, he encouraged them to come again in future. Mr Neill said the university doors remained open for anyone in need of professional development.
