UB Rhinos Unveil New Kit by Elite Physiotherapy & Major Muscle and Fitness

RhinosUniversity of Botswana (UB) Rhinos Rugby Club unveiled new kits for both its men's and women's teams at the UB Indoor Sports Arena on 19th April 2024. Elite Physiotherapy Clinic has sponsored the men’s kit while Major Muscle and Fitness sponsored the women's team kit.

Acting Director, Department of Culture, Sports and Recreation, Dr Comfort Mokgothu, expressed gratitude to the sponsors during a short ceremony held at the UB Campus Indoor Sports Centre. Dr Mokgothu emphasised the importance of local companies' commitment to promoting social responsibility and sports development at UB and in Botswana. He highlighted the positive impact of the sponsorship on sports athletes and the University as a whole, encouraging continued collaboration between the sponsors and the club.

UB Rhinos Rugby Club Coach, Mr Mooketsi Ramakele, gave an overview of the team's history, noting its establishment in 1997. He praised the team's current performance and thanked the sponsors for their support in promoting sports. Mr Ramakele observed that by supporting the team, the sponsors were also promoting positive values associated with UB. He underlined UB Rhinos' role in fostering the growth of rugby in the country and its contribution to player recruitment.

RhinosA physiotherapist at Elite Physiotherapy Clinic, Mr Thumbe Muula, shared insights into the clinic's services, including treatment for sports injuries and other conditions. He expressed pride in partnering with UB Rhinos to promote sports development at UB and national level.

Community Development Officer at Major Muscle and Fitness, Mr Tshepho Joseph, outlined the company's focus on selling bodybuilding supplements and promoting physical fitness and sports in Botswana. He highlighted the company's sponsorship of bodybuilding championships and athletes, emphasising its commitment to sports development.

UB Rhinos Captain, Wabona Motingwa, expressed appreciation to both companies for their support and encouraged continued collaboration to advance rugby sports in the country.
