UB Hawks soared to victory against Taung Young Strikers with a commanding 3-1 win in an electrifying game held at the Gaborone United Stadium on the 31st of January 2025. The game kicked off at 1800hrs with high intensity as Taung Young Strikers looked to gain an early advantage. However, UB Hawks’ resilience and tactical prowess ultimately proved too much for the visitors.
The action-packed encounter saw Taung Young Strikers take an early lead in the first half through an unfortunate own goal by UB Hawks, deflecting a shot from Odirile Lekoba (jersey number 25) into their own net. With momentum on their side, Young Strikers pressed forward but UB Hawks quickly regrouped and took control of the game.
Determined to equalise, UB Hawks intensified their attacks and their efforts paid off when Kaelo Ntsimane executed a stunning bicycle kick inside the 18-yard box. A miscalculation by Young Strikers' goalkeeper allowed the ball to find the back of the net to level the score at 1-1.
