The University of Botswana's (UB) Campus Indoor Sports Centre came alive recently as the much-anticipated Mr & Miss LLC Pageantry (2024/25) took center stage. With the theme “Empowerment Through Growth: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities,” this year’s event celebrated not just beauty and talent but also the values of resilience, leadership and community impact.
The competition was a true showcase of ambition and purpose as contestants vied for the prestigious titles across several categories. They dazzled in traditional and swimwear attire, captivated the audience with their unique talents and engaged in a thought-provoking question and answer session where they shared their views on important topics such as community development, leadership and personal growth. The contestants’ performances were a reflection of the pageantry’s core mission - empowering young individuals to transform challenges into opportunities.
The title of Mr LLC was awarded to Frans Kago Ngoma, a Bachelor of Science student in Exercise Science and Wellness, whose personal story of perseverance and ambition inspired all. Miss LLC, the female titleholder, was claimed by Jessica Neo Moilwa, a Bachelor of Science student in Chemistry, who stood out not only for her beauty but also her commitment to making a difference in her community.
The Mr & Miss LLC pageantry is more than a celebration of talent and charisma. It is a platform for young leaders to showcase their potential and their drive to make a lasting impact. This year’s event demonstrated how pageantry can be a powerful tool for personal development and social influence. Contestants were not just competing for a crown in that they were learning to navigate challenges, inspire their peers and embrace their growth journeys with strength and resilience.
By encouraging a spirit of mutual support and transformation, the pageantry served as a beacon of hope for the next generation of leaders, urging them to take charge of their futures and turn obstacles into opportunities.
