UB and IGI to Collaborate in Offering Programmes in Gem Certification and Appraisal
UB Vice Chancellor, Professor David Norris, November 15, 2022 met with officials from the International Gemological Institute (IGI) to discuss opportunities for cooperation in offering study programmes in gem certification and appraisal.
The University in collaboration with IGI will offer courses such as Basic Gemology; Professional Gemology; Diamond Specialist Certification; Jewellery Design; Diamond Grading; Jewllery Business Management, among others.
The collaboration seeks to support Government's efforts of economic diversification through enhanced value addition. This will also support job creation and economic empowerment of communities.
