Newcomers UB Hawks hold Notwane FC to a Draw in First Division South League Encounter
Newly promoted University of Botswana Hawks, held Notwane FC to a one-all draw in their First Division South League fixture played at the UB Stadium on October 14, 2023.
Hawks gave Notwane a tough time throughout the game by creating more chances and dominating ball possession. Bosa Mokgweetsi scored the opening goal for Hawks in the 25th minutes of the first stanza following an assist from Aobakwe Galetshabe. Notwane came back and equalised score in the second stanza after struggling to contain Hawks.
This was the first game for Hawks who were recently promoted to first division. Next in line for Hawks will be Extension Gunners at Lobatse at Lobatse. Meanwhile, UB Hawks Head Coach, Basimanebotlhe Alex Malete, said the team played well and the draw against Notwane FC would boost their morale for the next game against Gunners.
