New Staff Oriented on University Systems, Policies and E-Learning Resources for Effective Service Delivery

elNewly appointed staff at the University of Botswana (UB) have been equipped with knowledge of the University's systems, policies and support services to help them settle into their roles and contribute effectively to the institution.

The orientation was provided during an e-learning workshop and induction held on 18 September 2026 at Block 247, UB. The session introduced the new staff to the University's e-learning platforms and other digital resources while providing guidance on policies, procedures and responsibilities associated with their work.

Beyond familiarising participants with the University's systems, the induction created an opportunity for new staff to interact with colleagues and facilitators, ask questions and seek clarification on issues likely to affect their day-to-day work.

The programme also highlighted the support available to staff as they begin their careers at UB, helping them understand where to obtain assistance and how to make effective use of the University's resources.

The induction is part of UB's efforts to ensure that newly appointed staff have the information and practical knowledge needed to navigate the institution and begin their duties with confidence. By combining e-learning orientation with broader institutional induction, the programme gave participants a foundation for integrating into the University community and contributing to UB's work from the outset.
