Miss UB 2025 Spreads Christmas Cheer in Kodibeleng

Ms UBReigning Miss University of Botswana (UB) 2025, Ms Gofaone Choba, on the 15th December 2025 brought Christmas cheer to children in Kodibeleng village in the Central District through a toys and clothes donation drive.

Accompanied by her 2nd Princess and members of the UB Kampus Corner student club, Miss UB visited the village to share the spirit of giving and make Christmas extra special for local children. The initiative forms part of her Beauty with Purpose project under her non-governmental organisation (NGO), Million Smiles, which focuses on uplifting communities and changing lives.

Addressing parents, village leadership and Village Development Committee (VDC), Ms Choba thanked them for welcoming the initiative and emphasised the importance of Botho which is Botswana’s national value of humility, compassion and respect for others.

Welcoming the UB delegation, Kgosi Bankganeditse Tshokololo thanked Miss UB and UB for the generous gesture, commending the University for nurturing young leaders who demonstrated care and responsibility towards their communities.

VDC Chairman, Mr Moremedi Baiphanyi, also expressed appreciation, noting that Kodibeleng was often overlooked due to its remoteness. Mr Baiphanyi described the visit as a meaningful beginning of partnership and wished Ms Choba well as she represented Botswana internationally including her participation in global pageantry platforms.

UB Kampus Corner Chairperson, Charmaine Engleton, said the club was proud to support Miss UB’s community project and revealed plans for a back-to-school donation drive in collaboration with the reigning queen.

The day concluded with food prepared by the VDC, children enjoying a jumping castle and tree planting activities aimed at promoting environmental sustainability.
