Hawks Beat Flamingo Santos to Secure First Victory in First Division South League
University of Botswana (UB) Hawks Football Club beat Flamingo Santos FC to secure their first victory in the First Division South League during a game played at UB Stadium on the 11th of November 2023.
Hawks secured their win through an own goal from a cross that Thabo Tlhowe delivered in the 85th minute. Tlhowe crossed the ball into the 18-yard area which deflected off the head of a Flamingo Santos defender into the net. Hawks could have won 2-0 but were denied a goal in the first half. Aobakwe Galetshabe scored in the 25th minute but the referee ruled it out as a handball.
Hawks started the game alight and looked more energised going forward in search of a win. They dominated the game and created more chances in both halves than the visitors. So far, Hawks has six (6) points and have moved from second from bottom to position 10 on the log. In the next fixture, Hawks go head-to-head against Desert Nxau in Tsabong on the 18th of November 2023.
