Halfway Toyota has strengthened its support for the 2026 University of Botswana (UB) Marathon by sponsoring logistics vehicles to support the organisation and delivery of the event.
The sponsorship includes two vehicles - a new Toyota Hilux GD-6 and a Toyota Starlet Cross - with a third vehicle expected to be delivered soon. The vehicles will support logistics, route management, emergency response and other operational requirements during the marathon.
Giving the welcome remarks, UB Director of Student Life and Experience, Dr Barbra Pansiri, expressed gratitude to Halfway Toyota for its valuable support, noting that partnerships of such nature strengthened collaboration between the University, private sector and wider community.
Dr Pansiri said the partnership embodied the spirit of “Motho le Motho Kgomo,” highlighting the importance of collective effort and mutual support. She added that the logistics support would contribute to safer routes, faster emergency response and smoother coordination, helping the University deliver a safe and successful marathon for thousands of participants.
Executive Director of Halfway Toyota, Mr Botshelo Nthaga, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to support the fifth UB Marathon, saying the company was committed to helping individuals and communities achieve their goals through initiatives that promoted sustainable development, quality education, good health and overall wellbeing.
He said Halfway Toyota looked forward to building a long-term partnership with the UB Marathon and supporting its continued growth. He further noted that the sponsorship contributed to the fight against non-communicable diseases by promoting physical activity, healthy lifestyles and community wellbeing.

Mr Bodilenyane also highlighted the visibility and marketing opportunities available to Halfway Toyota through the partnership including brand exposure through event materials, media coverage and press releases. He noted that the sponsored vehicles would carry both UB and Halfway Toyota branding, symbolising the partnership between the two organisations.
