FrenchThe French Ambassador to Botswana and Special Representative to Southern African Development Community (SADC), His Excellency Mr Olivier Brochenin, recently paid the Vice Chancellor of the University of Botswana (UB), Professor David Norris, a courtesy visit during which he discussed an upcoming visit by representatives from Campus France.

Campus France is a government agency operating under the French Ministry of External Affairs. Mr Brochenin highlighted that Campus France specialised in facilitating opportunities for international students interested in studying in France.

During the meeting, the Ambassador urged the University of Botswana to facilitate potential interactions with a representative from Campus France, who was scheduled to be in Botswana from 18th to 21st March 2024.

Mr Brochenin indicated that the interactions would involve discussions with students and faculty regarding possible student fellowships with French universities and other collaborations within university faculties, particularly the French Department.

It is noteworthy that the French Department at the University of Botswana has a longstanding relationship with France through its engagement with Alliance Française.

According to the French Head of Department, Ms Rodah Nthapelang , the partnership with Alliance Française had provided French students with opportunities for attachments and enriching experiences.

"We will be delighted to engage with Campus France and explore additional opportunities for collaboration beyond our current partnership with Alliance Française and other French institutions," elaborated Ms. Nthapelang.
