Forechem05 Solutions is an innovative agro-biotechnology startup based in Botswana, founded by Kabelo K. Moabi, Katlego Botshelo, Lebogang I. Motlhatlhedi, Obakeng Cheleketo and Thabile L. Balebeng. The founding team comprises a dynamic mix of talent - graduates and two (2) pursuing degrees in Forensic Sciences and Pure and Applied Chemistry.
Operating under the University of Botswana (UB) incubation programme, UniPod, Forechem05 Solutions has developed a pioneering bio-organic liquid fertiliser made from hydrolysed biological hair waste. Rich in nitrogen and amino acids, the fertiliser presents an eco-friendly, sustainable alternative to conventional chemical products.
What distinguishes this innovation is its adaptability to different soil types, improving agricultural outcomes and making it relevant across Botswana’s diverse farming conditions. Initially developed as a university research project, the product has undergone extensive lab trials, reflecting the founders’ dedication to environmental sustainability and scientific rigor.
The startup’s mission is to transform waste into productivity, empower local farmers and safeguard Botswana’s natural ecosystems. With the product now patented, Forechem05 is poised for commercial rollout, offering real potential for industry-scale impact in sustainable agriculture.
UB continues to be a breeding ground for transformative ideas by accommodating and nurturing all youth to move Botswana forward with innovative solutions. Through platforms such as the UniPod, UB is helping to drive industry development and shape the country’s knowledge-based economy.
