The duo impressed judges with their confidence, eloquence and stage presence, emerging victorious in a highly competitive field.
Their victory marked a remarkable comeback as both had previously excelled in the Mr and Miss UB Head-to-Head Challenge, signaling their consistency and determination throughout the competition. Representing Mokgommane and Mahalapye respectively, they captivated both judges and the audience with a blend of intellect, poise and charisma.
In the supporting categories, Boemo Reeny was named First Prince while Upah Kambura took the position of Second Prince. On the women’s side, Maungo Swereki was crowned First Princess and Boago Nkhwa secured the title of Second Princess.
The final stage of the competition saw the Top Seven (7) contestants face a panel of judges where they were assessed on their ability to articulate ideas, demonstrate awareness of social issues and project confidence under pressure. It was in this decisive round that Hans and Sebudi set themselves apart, combining grace with thoughtful responses.
Speaking at the event, Mr and Miss Intervarsity Director, Pako Molatole, emphasised that pageantry went beyond physical appearance. He noted that winners were role models whose intelligence, knowledge and social skills could be used to positively influence fellow students and society at large.
Held under the theme “Educated, Innovative and Empowered Youth – Advancing Botswana Vision 2036,” the competition brought together students from across faculties to celebrate not only beauty but purpose and leadership. The evening also featured vibrant runway displays and performances by local artists, adding to the festive atmosphere.
In his closing remarks, Molatole commended all participants for their dedication and contribution to the success of the event. He noted that being crowned Mr and Miss UB was not merely about winning but reflected hard work, discipline and a genuine commitment to service.
