The University of Botswana Marathon is an annual event held in Greater Gaborone each September. The 2026 edition, scheduled for 6 September at the UB Stadium, marks a special double celebration of the 5th anniversary of the University of Botswana Marathon and Botswana’s 60th Independence anniversary.
Recognised as a qualifier for The Comrades and Two Oceans Marathons and certified by the World Athletics Association. This landmark edition will feature a 42.2 km marathon, 21.1 km half marathon, 10 km race, and a 5 km fun run designed to promote health and wellness, bringing together sport, national pride, and community celebration.
