Dr Thatayaone Segaetsho is a Conservator (April 2008 – Current) in the University of Botswana Library Services. He is the Chairperson of the Disaster Management Committee of the University of Botswana Library, Chairperson of the Botswana National Committee of International Council of Museums (ICOM Botswana), and Secretary for University of Botswana Sustainable Development Goals (UB SDG HUB). Dr Segaetsho is currently responsible for running a Preservation programme established in 2010 under Special Collections Unit in the UB-Library. Given the financial crises this days, the preservation programme has strategically adopted a cost effective route which mainly focus on preventive measures such as Integrated Pest Management system, care and handling, environmental control, binding, security, health and safety, particulates control, air pollution, light, mould, conservation Research etc. Dr Segaetsho have also worked at Imperial War Museum, Conservation department, London-UK (January-April 2012), Victoria and Albert’s Museum, Conservation Department, London –UK (April- May 2012), City of Westminster Archives Centre, London (April-June 2011) on which he all worked as a Volunteer Conservator. He also worked at University of Botswana, Chemistry Department (August 2007 - April 2008) as a Demonstrator/Teaching Assistant.
