Mabedi Kgositau, a lecturer in the School of Nursing is a registered nurse midwife who holds a Bachelor of Nursing Education from the University of Botswana and Masters of Science in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, USA. Her area of specialization is Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Kgositau has worked as a registered nurse and midwife in Botswana hospitals and clinics. Most of the employment years were in nursing schools teaching at Diploma, Bachelors and Master’s degree levels. The current employment includes teaching in the Bachelor of Nursing Science program and the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty program at the School of Nursing, University of Botswana. Research interest areas include nursing education and chronic disease management. Professional membership includes the Botswana Nurse’s Union (BONU) and the American Nurse Practitioner Association (AANP). Ms. Kgositau regularly engages with the International Council of Nursing (ICN) on issues of Nurse Practitioner role development. She is currently a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana (NMCB).
