Prof. Adamu Murtala Zungeru obtained his PhD, MSc, and BEng from Nottingham University, ABU-Zaria, and FUT- Minna, respectively. He served as a Research Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA, where he also earned a Postgraduate Teaching Certificate in 2014. Currently, he is a Full Professor of Electrical Engineering. Before joining UB in August 2025, he served as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Communications Systems Engineering at the Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) from November 2018 to February 2025. In 2015, before joining BIUST, he was a Senior Lecturer and Head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti, Nigeria. Prof. Zungeru is a Senior Member of IEEE, a registered engineer with the COREN-Nigeria, a Professional Engineer accredited by ERB-Botswana, and a member of the ACM in the USA.

He is credited with inventing the Termite-Hill routing algorithm for WSNs, a Method and System for sorting diamonds, An Electrical Switching System for a Building or Installation, and a farmyard access control system and method. He has received 9 Granted patents in the USA, Russia, the EU (38 contracting States), China, South Africa, the ARIPO, and Botswana. He has published 67 Scopus-indexed Journals, 5 Books, 13 Book Chapters, 18 Conference papers and 2 Editorials, and currently serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Access Journal.
