Dr Keoneeng Know Magocha

PhD in Applied Linguistics

Dr Keoneeng Magocha is a lecturer at University of Botswana in the department of Communication and Study Skills. Keoneeng studied at Aston University Birmingham in UK where he did Masters in Teaching English for Specific Purposes. He also completed PhD research at Potchefstroom University in South Africa in Applied Linguistics.

 

Apart from teaching Business Communication Skills at UB Dr Magocha has done consultancy teaching of the same at Botswana Institute of Development Management, the Botswana National Productivity Center, BOCCIM and Botswana Open University. His main research interests are in communication in business and academic writing.

 

Dr Magocha has also contributed to the development of revision materials for the English COSC examination in the Mmegi Newspaper in 2001. Magocha has been engaged on several occasions as a resource person to professionals from various fields on the topic "Business Presentation SKills"

 

Magocha has over the years read and edited  several Masters and PhD thesis. He has also worked with the Office of Research and Development at UB to assist post graduate students on topics relating to doing and reporting research findings. Magocha has also been involved in the writing clinic at the UB as Coordinator and he also coordinated the revision of courses in CSSU.

 

Magocha is the founding President of the Reading Association of Botswana and has worked as reading advisor to teachers, organizations and students
