Is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine clinically trained in Family Medicine. He holds a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) from the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB). Professor Tsima is the Assistant Program Director in the department of Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of Botswana. His faculty position includes teaching responsibilities, administration, research and clinical service. He has practiced medicine in Botswana from 2007 in various capacities including rural communities in the North-West district of the country, district hospitals, general and HIV outpatient clinics and academic settings. Professor Tsima is an Adjunct Scholar with the CCEB and a Penn Center for Global Health International Scholar.

1. HIV disease in Botswana

Research  focused on identifying the specific clinical challenges in HIV care. Explores the relationship between HIV and Non Communicable diseases.

2. Complications of other co-morbidities in HIV infected patients.

    Focus: Neurocognitive impairment, Smoking and HIV, frailty and ageing

3. Medical education/Healthcare infrastructure of Botswana
