The University of Botswana invites applications from suitably qualified citizens for the position of Temporary Lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Planning. The selected candidate will primarily teach courses in the Urban and Regional Planning Programme, which is fully accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) teach courses in Landscape Design, and Urban Planning & Design; (ii) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should have: (i) at least A PhD in Urban Design/Urban Planning or Equivalent; (ii) a Master’s Degree in Urban Design/Landscape Architecture or equivalent; (iii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or cognate field; (v) evidence of registration or eligibility to register with a recognisable national or international professional body. The following will be an added advantage: (i) teaching experience in Urban Design/Landscape Architecture at a university or comparable institution; (ii) Professional experience.
N.B. In special circumstances, candidates who do not have a Ph.D. may be considered provided they have; (i) a Master’s Degree in Urban Design/Landscape Architecture or equivalent; (ii) a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or cognate field with at least a 2(i) pass or equivalent (GPA of at least 3.6 on a 5-point scale).
