Applicants are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Temporary Full–Time Music Education Demonstrator in the Department of Primary Education, Faculty of Education.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to assist in: (i) Managing the departmental music laboratory through monitoring of lab equipment and supervision of lab activities; (ii) Provide technical assistance to staff members in the use of musical instruments during the teaching of music education; (iii) Organizing and cataloguing all audio musical instruments and materials (iv) Provide support during the conducting of tutorials; (v) Order equipment and supplies (recording studio discs, sound equipment, instruments, etc.) as instructed; (vi) Prepare schedules for student recitals, band and choral concerts; (vii) Facilitate the logistics of approved music group performances; (viii) Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Candidates should have: (i) at least a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field; (ii) Knowledge of music notation and use of relevant software; (iii) Experience as a technician in the music field working at a university or comparable institution as well as experience of handling and using of musical instruments will be added advantages.
