TEMPORARY FULL-TIME LECTURER IN MINERAL ENGINEERING

FACULTY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY

VACANCY NO. IRC 1007: TEMPORARY FULL-TIME LECTURER IN MINERAL ENGINEERING, DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING (6 Months contract)

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Temporary Full-Time Lecturer in Mineral Engineering.

Duties: The successful candidate is expected to; (i) teach undergraduate courses in Mineral Engineering in more than one of the following courses: Processing Plant Equipment Selection and Design, Process Control and Instrumentation for Mineral Engineers and Physical Mineral Processes (ii) conduct and produce results of scholarly work, actively involving students at undergraduate and post graduate levels; (iii) carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants should have/be: (i) a PhD in Mineral Engineering or related field; (ii) Master Degree in Mineral Engineering or related field; (iii) Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Engineering or related field with at least 2(i) pass/GPA of at least 3.6 or equivalent; (iv) evidence of engagement in research; (v) registered or eligible for registration with professional engineering body. The following will be added advantages: (i) evidence of Governance and Social Engagement; (ii) teaching experience at a University or comparable institution; (iii) practical Mineral Engineering exposure.

N.B In special circumstances, a Masters’ Degrees in Mineral Engineering with significant research output and industry experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Engineering of at least 2(i) or equivalent may be considered.
