TEMPORARY FULL TIME DEMONSTRATOR IN ART/DESIGN

The Faculty of Education invites applications from suitably qualified persons for the position of Temporary Full Time Demonstrator in Art/Design.
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to assist in; (i) managing the departmental art and design education laboratory and store-room (ii) issue tools, materials and equipment to student laboratory and store-rooms; (iii) prepare Art and Design Education studios/laboratories for students practical sessions; (iv) run tutorials in Art and Design Education demonstrating competency in the use of studio/laboratory equipment and experimental techniques to classes;(v) maintain acceptable safety standards in Art and Design studios; (vi) maintain standards and a high productivity in the studios/laboratories; (vii) inspect, maintain service and repair all equipment and machinery where appropriate; (viii) undertake the purchase of equipment/materials and carry out any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or the Head of Department..
Requirement: Applicants should possess; (i) a Bachelor Degree in Art/Design Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with specialization in Art or a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art or related fields; (ii) The candidate must have taken courses in graphics and ceramics; (iii) service at a level of Art and Design technician or teaching assistant at a recognized tertiary institution will be added advantage.
