DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES

TEMPORARY FULL TIME DEMONSTRATORS - 4 POSITIONS (9 months contract)

VACANCY NO: FE/FCS01/2021

The successful candidates will be expected to assist in the following;                           

1. Foods & Nutrition including Food Services & Meal Management;
2. Textiles and Clothing;
3. Housing & Interior Design;
4. Family Studies and Human Development/Early Childhood Development

 Duties:  The successful applicants will be responsible for:

1. Preparing for, demonstrating and supervising practical lessons;
2. Grading Laboratory exercises;
3. Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements: At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics/FCS or a related field with a specialisation in: (i)Foods & Nutrition including Food Services & Meal Management; Textiles and Clothing; Housing & Interior Design; Human Development, Family and Consumer Studies (Early Childhood Development).  Candidates applying for the Human Development, Family and Consumer Studies (Early Childhood Development) demonstrator position should be able to work with children under 5 years old and must have a good track a record. Each applicant must specify the area in which their application should be considered. (ii) Candidates should have knowledge of operating laboratory equipment in the relevant areas.  (iii) Relevant work experience, a master's degree and computing skills will be an added advantage
