VACANCY NO: IRC 2605                                                                 

1. Foods & Nutrition including Food Services & Meal Management.
2. Textiles and Clothing.
3. Housing & Interior Design.
4. Human Development and Family Studies/Early Childhood Development and Education

Duties:  The successful applicants will be responsible for:

1. Preparing for demonstrating and supervising practical lessons.
2. Grading laboratory exercises and assignments.
3. Run tutorials
4. Demonstrate competency in using laboratory equipment, and experimental techniques to students as required.
5. Assist with purchase equipment/materials for practicals.
6. Perform any other duties in other areas/sections of the Department as needed including but not limited to invigilation and events as may be assigned by the immediate Supervisor/ Lecturer or the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicants must have:  a) at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics/Family and Consumer Sciences or a related field with a specialization in: Foods & Nutrition including Food Service & Meal Management; Textiles and Clothing; Housing & Interior Design; Early Childhood Development and Education/Human Development, Family and Consumer Studies).  Candidates applying for the Human Development, Family and Consumer Studies/Early Childhood Development and Education) demonstrator position should be able to work with children under 5 years old and must have a good track record.
Each applicant must specify the area in which their application should be considered; b) a minimum pass of 2(ii) or a GPA of 3.0; c) candidates should have knowledge of operating laboratory equipment in the relevant areas.
