TEACHING ASSISTANT - CHILD DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY (9 Months)

FACULTY OF EDUCATION - DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCES

VACANCY NO: FCS/TA/6/2022 - TEACHING ASSISTANT – CHILD DEVELOPMENT LABORATORY (9 months Contract)

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to (i) facilitate the learning process of young children from the age of 0-5 years; (ii) to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, which is multi-cultural and relevant for young children; (iii) monitor and evaluate children’s daily programs; (iv) assess individual children’s development and generate progress reports; (v) ensures the help and safety of the children and (vi) perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements: Candidates should have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and Education or Family and Consumer Sciences/Home Economics with an area of emphasis in Early Childhood Development; (b) a teaching permit from the Ministry of Basic Education (MOBE); (c) Experience in working with young children in a preschool setting or a master’s degree in Child Development/Early Childhood Education will be an added advantage.
