The University of Botswana (UB), a state – owned tertiary education institution, invites suitably qualified, and experienced candidates for the position of Lecturer in Pharmacy (Pharmacology).
Main purpose of the job: to coordinate and teach pharmacology courses in the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science (full-time).
Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to: (i) undertake the teaching of pharmacology course for undergraduate and postgraduate in the School of Pharmacy; (ii) supervise post graduate and undergraduate student’s projects as need may arise (iii) participate in the academic, governance and social engagement in pharmacy or related fields (iv) and perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Head of Department.
Requirements: Applicants should possess: (i) a PhD in Pharmacology or related; (ii) a Master’s degree in Pharmacology or related (iii) a first degree in Bachelor of Pharmacy (iv) Evidence of governance and social engagement in any of the above or related fields. Teaching at the University or a comparable institution will be an added advantage.
The curriculum vitae should contain a detailed list of published works, clearly specifying titles of publications, ISBN numbers (for books, book chapters and conference proceedings), dates of publications, names of publishers, name/s of co-authors, if any and number of pages. The works should be categorized into books, book chapters, refereed journals, non-refereed works, consultancies and practical media projects.
NB: The Applicants should provide evidence of registration or be registrable by the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC) as a pharmacist.
