STUDENT LIFE AND EXPERIENCE DIRECTOR (FIXED-TERM CONTRACT)

The University of Botswana (UB), a state- owned tertiary education institution, invites suitable candidates for the position of Director, Student Life and Experience in the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor.

The Director, Student Life and Experience is responsible for creating and maintaining a supportive, engaging, and enriching environment for students. This role oversees the development and delivery of comprehensive student engagement programmes and services, including wellness, housing, governance, cultural activities, sports, recreation, counselling, disability support, and career development.

  2. Student Engagement
  3. Student Counselling and Career Development Services
  4. Customer and Stakeholder Experience
  5. Risk Management and Compliance
  6. People Management
  7. Financial Management

Position Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications; applicant must have attained;

  1. Masters Degree in Education or related area is required.
  2. A PhD in a relevant field will be an added advantage

Experience:

  1. A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience, five (5) of which should have been at middle management level.
  2. Higher Education work experience is preferred 

Professional Registration or license

Member of recognized professional body.

Other requirements

  1. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  2. Commitment to promoting student well-being, inclusivity, and a positive campus culture.
  3. Familiarity with mental health and counselling best practices.
  4. Knowledge of housing management, student engagement strategies, and career development programs.
  5. Budget management and financial planning expertise
