IN-SERVICE (INSET) TEMPORARY FULL-TIME LECTURER-CHEMISTRY EDUCATION (6 MONTHS)

VACANCY NO: FE/MSE 1/2021

Duties: As a member of the Department of Mathematics and Science Education INSET team, the lecturer will; (i) participate in the implementation of an in-service training programme in the area of Chemistry Education; (ii) contribute to the pre-service teaching programme in the Department; (iii) Carry out any other related duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Requirements: Applicant should; (i) have a PhD. Degree in Chemistry Education or equivalent; (ii) show evidence of engagement in research. The following will be added advantages; (i) Evidence of governance and social engagement; (ii) teaching experience at a university or comparable institution; (iii) experience in supervision, teacher training, knowledge of and experience in training for professional development.

N.B. In special circumstances a Master’s Degree in Chemistry Education may be considered provided the candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry Education with at least a 2(i) or equivalent and such candidate will be considered.
