The University of Botswana (UB), a state – owned tertiary education institution, through the department of Internal Audit seeks to appoint a Senior Professional: Auditor (Systems).
The Senior Professional: Auditor (Systems) is responsible for providing assurance and consultancy services on the adequacy, efficiency and effectiveness of the University's governance, risk management and internal controls on technology operations, infrastructure and cybersecurity operations. The position holder will assist in assessing ICT systems and evaluating data integrity in order to support the University's mission and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities: (i) To execute ICT and systems-based audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes. -- Assess the security, integrity, and reliability of the University’s information systems and digital infrastructure. (ii) Conduct audits on enterprise systems (e.g., HR, Finance, Student Systems among others) and related applications. - Stay abreast of emerging trends in cybersecurity, ICT risk and audit methodologies. (iii) Prepare clear, concise, and timely audit reports for management and audit committees. (iv) Provide advisory services on ICT projects, system implementations, and digital transformation initiatives. (v) Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of IT controls and identify areas for enhancement. (vi) Support the monitoring and verification of the implementation of recommended control measures. (vii) Contribute to governance strategy by assisting with formulation of governance related policies. (viii) Assist in evaluating risk mitigation strategies and control frameworks. (ix) Support the monitoring and verification of the implementation of recommended control measures.
Minimum Qualification Requirements: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent field. Certified Information Systems Audit (CISA) professional certification or equivalent is required. CIA will be an added advantage
Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience, with three (3) years at officer level. Higher Education sector experience will be an added advantage.
Other Requirements: Professional registration with ISACA or equivalent is required
